According to Deadline, Netflix set initial casting on its first ever original musical JINGLE JANGLE. Keegan-Michael Key, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose, and Madalen Mills have joined Forest Whitaker in the cast. The film is set to be written and directed by David E. Talbert. the film will be set for release in 2020.
Deadline describes the film as "The film, which is being produced by John Legend's Get Lifted Film Co, depicts a cobblestone world that comes to life in the event holiday musical tale of an embattled toymaker (Whitaker), his precocious granddaughter (Mills), and a magical invention, that if they can get it to work in time for the holidays, could change their lives forever."
Key is a multiple Emmy award winner and nominee known for his work on KEY AND PEELE. Rashad is well known for her work on CREED, THIS IS US and TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL. Rose is known for her work on THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, THE QUAD, and FOR COLORED GIRLS. Read more about the news from Deadline here!
