Neil Patrick Harris guest starring on the Joss Whedon directed episode of GLEE sounds like a perfect match. GLEE creator Ryan Murphy agrees.  According to the Ausiello Files, Murphy is creating a role just for Harris which will include some singing and dancing. As Harris is currently starring in CBS's How I Met Your Mother, CBS needs to approve Harris's appearance on Fox's GLEE.

Harris has proven himself a delightful entertainer with musical roles in Joss Whedon's Internet sensation Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Also attached to this Joss Whedon directed GLEE episode is Zachary Woodlee, who choreographed the "Nothing Suits Me Like A Suit" musical number starring Harris in How I Met Your Mother's recent 100th episode.

Equally successful on stage and screen, Neil Patrick Harris continues to demonstrate his creative versatility. He can currently be seen as the womanizing Barney Stinson in the fifth season of the hit CBS comedy series, "How I Met Your Mother," a role which garnered him a 2009 Golden Globe nomination and three consecutive Emmy Award nominations. Named one of the "2008 Entertainers of the Year" by Entertainment Weekly, Harris served as host of the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards and the 63rd Annual Tony Awards. He has appeared on Broadway in Childen of Art, Assassins, Cabaret and Proof.

GLEE returns to FOX on April 13 at 9pm on Tuesdays.

Recent winner of the People's Choice Award for Best New Comedy and Golden Globe winner for Best Television Series Comedy or Musical, GLEE, the new musical comedy series, follows an optimistic teacher who - against all odds and a malicious cheerleading coach - attempts to save McKinley High's Glee Club from obscurity while helping a group of aspiring underdogs realize their true star potential.

The show, which also garnered Golden Globe recognition, stars Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jessalyn Gilsig, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Jenna Ushkowitz.

Due to the success of the first installment of the show, which aired last on December 9, FOX has already ordered a second season of the show and announced that it will soon be launching a nationwide search to cast three new roles, which will be documented on the network in the multi-part special. These newest additions will make their debut on the second season premiere.
GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century FoxTelevision. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are co-creators of the series. Murphy, Falchuk and Dante di Loreto serve as executive producers, while Ian Brennan serves as co-executive producer.
