Neil Patrick Harris & More Set For Spike TV's VGA TEN, 12/7

The biggest night in gaming just got bigger. Spike TV's "VGA TEN" (#VGA), the network's tenth annual live televised event to celebrate the best in video games, will feature appearances by returning hosts, Snoop Lion and Zachary Levi and a special video cameo from Neil Patrick Harris. Presenters will include Jessica Alba, Marlon Wayans, Adam Scott and Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun from "The Walking Dead," among others. Gustavo Santaolalla is scheduled for a live musical performance while Wolfgang Gartner will perform as the House DJ throughout the entire show. "VGA TEN" will premiere LIVE from Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, CA on Friday, December 7 at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT on Spike TV. Additionally, the show will simulcast on MTV 2, MTV Tr3s, Xbox LIVE, Spike.com and GameTrailers.com.

"This year's 'VGAs' is a kick-ass show," said Mark Burnett, Executive Producer. "It's our 10th anniversary, and it's Chock Full O'Talent. I literally cannot wait!"

Spike TV and Entertainment Weekly have partnered to create the first-ever "Entertainment Weekly and Spike VGA Best Game of the Decade" award. The EW staff revealed the nominees in its "Entertainment Weekly and Spike VGA Top Ten Games of the Decade" feature which is featured on EW.com and in the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly. Starting today, fans can vote for their favorite game on EW.com/VGA and the winner will be unveiled live during the awards show on December 7.

Nominees for "Entertainment Weekly and Spike VGA Best Game of the Decade" include "Batman: Arkham City" (Warner Bros. Interactive), "BioShock" (2K Games), "Half-Life 2" (Valve), "Mass Effect 2" (Electronic Arts), "Portal" (Valve), "Red Dead Redemption" (Rockstar Games), "Shadow of the Colossus" (Sony Computer Entertainment), "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker" (Nintendo), "Wii Sports" (Nintendo) and "World of Warcraft" (Blizzard Entertainment).

"VGA TEN" will also feature highly anticipated world premieres from "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2" (Konami), "BioShock Infinite" (2K Games), "Tomb Raider" (Square Enix), "Assassin's Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington" (Ubisoft), "Halo 4: Spartan Ops" (Microsoft Studios) and more.

Previously announced talent includes host Samuel L. Jackson and musical performances by Linkin Park and Tenacious D. Game exclusives previously announced include Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us," Epic Games' "Gears of War: Judgment" and Obsidian Entertainment's "South Park: The Stick of Truth."

Spike TV and Microsoft have also teamed up to broadcast the 2012 Video Game Awards to Xbox LIVE users in the United States and additional countries this December. Airing alongside the live broadcast, the VGAs will showcase groundbreaking interactivity that lets users "play" the show as it happens live through the U.S. Xbox LIVE stream. The Xbox LIVE audience will see responses to poll questions being tabulated in real time on screen and users with Xbox Smartglass will get a unique second-screen experience that updates live alongside the show content.

House DJ, Wolfgang Gartner, will release a new single during the week of the VGAs on Ultra Records, called "Wolfgang Gartner & Tom Staar - Evil Lurks." Gartner also launches the beginning of his radio show, "Kindergarten Radio," next week on the "Evolution" station on I Heart Radio. "Kindergarten Radio" will air every Wednesday, 9PM-11PM EST.
