National Geographic Channel Announces New Series BELOW ZERO

Today, National Geographic Channels announced Life BELOW ZERO, a new series that explores life in the remote corners of one of America's harshest climates, Alaska.

In the state with the lowest population density in the United States, deep in the remote corners of this unforgiving extremity of America live some of the toughest, most resilient and most isolated people in the world. They are the Alaskan bush people. The new series, shot entirely on location literally at the end of the earth, where crews braved temperatures as cold as 80 degrees below zero, is produced by Adjacent Productions.

The series, which will premiere this Spring on National Geographic Channel in the United States, follows hardened Alaska bush people in different corners of this merciless territory far beyond the ends of the world's loneliest roads. Subsisting off the rugged Alaskan bush, they battle deathly weather, man-eating carnivores, and limited resources to survive off the grid and through a long, dark, freezing winter. From preparations before the freeze and through the breakup, they battle for the most basic necessities: food, water, and heat. Some of them are lone wolves; others have their families beside them. All must overcome despairing odds to brave the wild and survive through to the spring.
