The Ziegfeld Theatre will host a magical marathon of the HARRY POTTER film series, which stars EQUUS lead Daniel Radcliffe as the heroic Potter.
The historic Ziegfeld will show the films for a six day limited engagement starting December 19th and will play through the 24th. Radio station WPLJ is the sponsor of the event. For tickets and more information please visit www.clearviewcinemas.com.
Under the direction of Thea Sharrock, EQUUS opened on September 25 for a strictly limited engagement through February 8, 2009 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street).
Daniel Radcliffe is best known for playing the title role in all five of the "Harry Potter" films to date, and will star again in the sixth, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," due out July 2009. EQUUS also stars Richard Griffiths, with whom Daniel appeared in last year's highly successful production of the play in London's West End and in the Harry Potter films as well. EQUUS is Peter Shaffer's play about a boy with a secret and the surprising things that happen when a beautiful young girl brings that secret to light. After the mild-mannered stable boy Alan Strang (played by Daniel Radcliffe) has committed a serious crime, the court-appointed psychiatrist Martin Dysart (Richard Griffiths) is charged with revealing the mysteries behind the boy's behavior while confronting his own self-doubt in his marriage, his profession and his life.
