NY News Anchor Chris Wragge to Guest Co-Host on THE TALK, 6/8

WCBS-TV New York news anchor Chris Wragge returns to the Daytime Emmy Award-nominated talk show, CBS's THE TALK, as a guest co-host on Monday, June 8 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT/CT), joining hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood at the table. This will be Wragge's third appearance on THE TALK.

Throughout the week, news anchors from five CBS owned stations around the country will be in Los Angeles to serve as guest co-hosts.

During the week of June 8, THE TALK will feature the following guest co-hosts:

  • Monday, June 8: Chris Wragge, News Anchor, WCBS-TV, New York
  • Tuesday, June 9: Megan Glaros, Meteorologist, WBBM-TV, Chicago
  • Wednesday, June 10: Irika Sargent, News Anchor, WFOR-TV/CBS4, Miami
  • Thursday, June 11: Kate Bilo, Meteorologist, KYW-TV, Philadelphia
  • Friday, June 12: Pat Harvey, News Anchor, KCBS-TV, Los Angeles

Chris Wragge co-anchors CBS 2 News This Morning and CBS 2 News At Noon with Mary Calvi.

He rejoined the station in September 2011 after serving as co-anchor of CBS News' "The Early Show." Previously, Wragge served as co-anchor of the station's weeknight 5:00 and 11:00 PM newscasts, co-anchor of the Saturday edition of "The Early Show" and as a frequent substitute co-anchor of the weekday edition of "The Early Show."

Wragge first joined WCBS-TV in 2004 as the station's 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM sports anchor.

In November 2006, he made the transition to news anchor and reported on major events, such as the 2008 presidential election, the "Miracle on the Hudson" landing of U.S. Airways Flight 1549, Pope Benedict XVI's visit to New York and the Brooklyn tornado.

Also, Wragge covered the SCANDAL that led to the resignation of Governor Eliot Spitzer, the East Side crane collapse, the national recession and the rebuilding of the World Trade Center.

Wragge is the recipient of 18 Emmy Awards, including three wins in the Best News Anchor category. In addition, he and his CBS News colleagues won an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for "CBS Reports: Children of the Recession."

Prior to joining CBS, Wragge worked for NBC Sports. His assignments included covering the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, four years as sideline reporter for NBA game broadcasts and two years covering the WNBA. He also covered the PGA Tour for five years, Notre Dame Football, and the PBR. Additionally, he anchored NBC's Sportsdesk reports from 2002-04.

Previously, Wragge spent four years as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight.

Wragge's broadcasting career includes positions with KPRC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Houston, Texas; WVIT-TV in Hartford, Connecticut; and WMUR-TV in Manchester, New Hampshire. Also, he has been a host for HGTV, DIY and the Travel Channel.

CBS's Daytime Emmy Award-nominated talk show THE TALK, broadcast weekdays (2:00 PM, ET/1:00 PM, PT/CT), features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities discussing current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, cooking demos with celebrity chefs as well as real-world advice and tips from leading experts in fitness, diet, health, home, relationships, finance and fashion. The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.

CBS Daytime has been #1 in the day-part for 28 consecutive years, featuring a balance of dramas, game shows and talk.
