The New York Film Academy and The Korea Society invite those interested in the field of commercial directing to NYFA Union Square, which is located at 100 E. 17th St. in New York City, and will be held in its 4th Floor Screening Room at 1:30PM on Tuesday, September 9th.

Since 1986, when Kim became the youngest commercial film director at the age of 28, he has directed over 1,000 TV commercials with clients including McDonald's, Pepsi, Google, North Face, Dunkin Donuts, as well as Samsung, Hyundai, LG, and Sony in Korea. Kim has been honored with a slew of awards, amongst them are Finalist, Clio Cannes Commercial Film Festival (1995), Finalist, IBA Award (1996), Grand Prix, The Best Ad (Monthly Ad, 1995), Director of the Year (Monthly Ad, 1995), Grand Prix, Ad of the Year (Daehung, 1995), and many more.

The Korea Society is an organization that dedicates itself to the promotion of greater awareness, understanding and cooperation between the people of the United States and Korea. With that goal in mind, the organization hopes to raise awareness of one of the top Korean directors in the commercial industry.

"We're extremely honored to collaborate with The Korea Society and have Kyuhwan Kim speak at the Academy," says NYFA's Provost, Michael Young. "Kyuhwan is a highly recognizable name in the industry and is arguably the most successful Korean commercial director out there today."

New York Film Academy frequently hosts special industry guest speakers in both their Los Angeles and New York City locations. Former guests have included Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Wally Pfister, Josh Brolin, and many more. Due to the "learn by doing" approach to the arts, NYFA is considered one of the best hands-on film schools in the world by many of today's top filmmakers. To that notion, many of the world's top industry figures like Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, and Al Pacino, have sent their sons or daughters to the Academy.

If you're interested in attending, please RSVP to korea.rsvp(at)nyfa(dot)edu by Monday, September 8th with your full name.
