NIGHTLINE Finishes Neck and Neck With NBC's LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS in Total Viewers During the Final Week of the Season

ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.335 million Total Viewers, 472,000 Adults 25-54 and 346,000 Adults 18-49, during the week of September 12, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" ran neck-and-neck with NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" for the top spot in Total Viewers as only 1,000 viewers separated the two programs (1.335 million vs. 1.336 million).

"Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.161 million and 471,000) in Total Viewers (+174,000) and Adults 25-54 (+1,000).

"Nightline" owned the No. 1 telecast of the week in Total Viewers (1.514 million) with its Monday airing (9/12/16), outdrawing every telecast of the week of CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

For the 2015-16 season, "Nightline" averaged 1.504 million Total Viewers, 581,000 Adults 25-54 and 451,000 Adults 18-49, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" led CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.228 million, 491,000 and 399,000) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+276,000), Adults 25-54 (+90,000) and Adults 18-49 (+52,000) during the season.

ABC News' "Nightline" averaged 1.291 million Total Viewers, 480,000 Adults 25-54 and 369,000 Adults 18-49 during the 3rd Quarter 2016, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.092 million, 425,000 and 340,000, respectively) during the 3rd quarter in Total Viewers (+199,000), Adults 25-54 (+55,000) and Adults 18-49 (+29,000) for the 2nd year in a row. In fact, "Nightline" has topped the CBS program across the board in all 6 quarters that the two programs have aired in the time slot.

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. ROXANNA Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EDT on the ABC Television Network. Together with "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Nightline" is part of ABC's winning late-night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
