NEWSROOM, THE MINDY PROJECT Among Critics' Choice 'Most Exciting New Series' Honorees

HBO's THE NEWSROOM and FOX Universal's THE MINDY PROJECT are among the Critics' Choice Television award honorees in the category of 'Most Exciting New Series.' The honor recognizes new shows which will have their premieres after June 1. The Following (Fox/Warner Bros.), USA Political Animals and Nashville (ABC/Lionsgate) complete this year's list.

Last year's inaugural Critics’ Choice TV Awards honored eight shows in the category, half of them which will return next season and half which did not make it past their freshman seasons. Among last year's honoress were Alcatraz, Apartment 23, Awake, Falling Skies, New Girl, Ringer, Smash and Terra Nova.
