NBC's 'Today Show' is Only Morning Show to Post Growth

NBC News' "Today" continues as the dominant morning news program topping GMA by 919K. Last week's win marks "Today's" 762nd consecutive week in first place. Below are the highlights for the week ending July 17.

Highlights:

· TODAY averaged 4.709 million total viewers, a +24% (+919,000) advantage over GMA and +121% (+2,580,000) over Early Show.

· TODAY has now won 762 consecutive weeks in both homes and total viewers.
· In rating A25-54, TODAY led GMA by +42% (+5 tenths) and Early Show by +143% (+1 full ratings point).

· In rating A18-49, TODAY outperformed GMA by +63% (+5 tenths) and Early Show by +160% (+8 tenths).

· TODAY posted week-to-week gains in rating W/A18-49 (+6%/+8%).

· TODAY saw week-to-week gains in total viewers (+1%, or +59,000), rating M18-49 (+14%), and rating M/A25-54 (+10%/+6%). TODAY was also the only morning news program to post any growth versus the prior week.

· Week-to-week, TODAY widened its lead over both GMA and Early Show in homes, total viewers, and rating W/M/A25-54.

· Versus the same week last season, TODAY grew in rating A18-49 (+8%).
· TODAY's lead over GMA also improved compared to its season-to-date average in rating W/M/A18-49 and rating M25-54.

· Season-to-date, TODAY tops second-place GMA by +26% (+1,111,000) in total viewers and +40% (+706,000) in A25-54 (000).

· TODAY is enjoying its biggest STD total viewer and A25-54 (000) advantages over GMA at this point of a season in six years (since the 2003-04 season).

· TODAY has widened its advantages over both GMA and Early Show this season in total viewers, rating W/A18-49, and rating W/A25-54 compared to the same period last season.

TODAY II & III Highlights:
· TODAY II topped CBS Early Show for the week in homes (+50%), total viewers (+45% or +961,000), rating W/M/A18-49 (+83%/+33%/+40%) and rating W/M/A25-54 (+44%/+20%/+29%).

· TODAY II tied GMA in rating W18-49.

· TODAY II outperformed The View in rating M25-54 (+50%).

· TODAY III averaged 1.838 million total viewers and a 0.6 A25-54 rating.

· Versus year ago levels, TODAY III was up in homes (+8%), total viewers (+7%, or +120,000).

· Season-to-date, TODAY III has grown +4% (or +71,000) in total viewers and +13% in rating W25-54.

On its digital platforms, "Today" continued its strong performance during the week with more than 10.5 million online streams. TODAYshow.com's stories, blog, message boards and live votes were also popular with users.
