THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON has won the late-night ratings week of May 8-12 versus its ABC and CBS time-period competition in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54 - while delivering a five-week high in total viewers and equaling a five-week high in adult 18-49 rating, according to "live plus same day" results from Nielsen Media Research.
For the week, "Tonight" averaged a 0.66 rating in adults 18-49, to lengthen its lead over CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" (0.52) to a +27% margin, up from +15% for the prior week. Versus ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (0.40), Fallon won the week by +65%, up from +50% for the previous week. Note that last week's Friday "Kimmel" was an encore.
The 0.66 equals the highest rating for "Tonight" since the week of April 3-7 (0.68), matched over that span by another 0.66 the week of April 24-28. In total viewers, "Tonight" averaged 2.681 million, its best since 2.982 million for April 3-7.
At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" scored its highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in five weeks (0.36 in 18-49, 1.409 million viewers, best since a 0.36 in 18-49, 1.419 million viewers for the week of April 3-7).
At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" hit eight-week highs in both measures (0.24 in 18-49, 808,000 viewers, best since 0.24 in 18-49, 882,000 for March 13-17).
