Wednesday's "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" scored the show's highest metered-market household rating for a Wednesday (3.2) in seven months (since Feb. 4, 3.3). The show jumped +23% above its summer average prior to CBS's launch of Colbert (3.2 vs. 2.6).
In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 3.2/8; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.2/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/6; "Late Show," 0.7/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3. From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters. From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2). At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters. In Official-National Results for the Week of Sept. 7-11: "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon" (1.20/6 in 18-49, 3.943 million total viewers overall) ranked as the #1 late-night talk show of the week in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and other key demographics, despite last week's competition from the highly promoted debut of "Late Show with Stephen Colbert." Fallon topped Colbert on three of the week's four nights (Wednesday through Friday) in adults 18-49 and total viewers.Videos
