NBC's TODAY Tops GMA in Key Demo for Two Days Straight

NBC's TODAY continues to gain momentum, tightening the ratings race and posting regular daily wins. For the week of March 2, TODAY was the number-one morning show Tuesday and Wednesday, topping GMA by 80k in the key demo A25-54 both days. TODAY has now won 12 days out of the last seven weeks in the demo. TODAY also narrowed the demo gap with GMA by 49% week-to-week and by 43% versus the same week last year.

In total viewers, TODAY has cut the gap with GMA by 14% week to week and by 15% versus the same week last year. TODAY was the only morning show to post growth in total viewers week to week gaining 41k.

TODAY remains the #1 morning news program in A18-49 for the season.

TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:

Week of March 2

TODAY averaged 5.258 million total viewers, leading CBS THIS MORNING by +45% (+1.633 million)

TODAY was the only morning news program to increase its audience week-to-week (up +41,000)

TODAY averaged 2.051 million A25-54 viewers, +80% (+911,000) more than CBS

TODAY delivered a 1.72 A25-54 rating, leading CBS by +81% (+0.77)

TODAY was #1 in the demo on Tuesday and Wednesday, leading GMA by +80,000 A25-54 viewers both mornings

Versus the same week last year, TODAY reduced both GMA's total viewer lead by 15% and its A25-54 advantage by 43%

TODAY also cut GMA's lead week-to-week among total viewers (by 14%) and A25-54 viewers (by 49%)

TODAY's deliveries were up compared to the 1Q'15 average in total viewers (+4% or +204,000), A18-49 viewers (+4%, or +52,000), and A25-54 viewers (+5%, or +102,000)

TODAY is the #1 morning news program among A18-49 viewers for the 2014-15 season-to-date.

TODAY.COM HIGHLIGHTS:

For the 8th straight month, Today.com reached more consumers than Goodmorningamerica.com on Yahoo. Over 27 million unique visitors turned to Today.com in January for exclusive interviews and the latest lifestyle, parenting and entertainment news, according to recent data from comScore. For 16 consecutive and 23 out of the last 24 months Today.com has reached more Mobile consumers than Goodmorningamerica.com on Yahoo. This month, TODAY also announced the launch of the TODAY Parenting Team, the first-ever cross platform community designed to connect TODAY anchors, parents and viewers and offer solutions-oriented advice to everyday problems.

Today.com's strategy to reach consumers across all devices and platforms has paid off as our mobile unique visitors have grown +78% over the last 12 months while Goodmorningamerica.com on Yahoo is +1% for the same period. As such, Today.com has gone from parity in mobile unique visitors in Sept 2013 to nearly 3x Goodmorningamerica.com on Yahoo's mobile visitor number in January 2015.
