NBC's TODAY Receives Six Daytime Emmy Award Nominations

NBC News' TODAY has received a total of six Daytime Emmy Award nominations, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today. TODAY'S six nominations dominated the other morning news programs. "Good Morning America" received one nomination while "The Early Show" received no nominations.

The following is a list of "Today" nominations.

OUTSTANDING MORNING PROGRAM

NEW APPROACHES - DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT

OUTSTANDING PROMOTIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT – EPISODIC (Today Show: The Royal Wedding)

OUTSTANDING DIRECTING IN A TALK SHOW/MORNING PROGRAM

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN LIVE & DIRECT TO TAPE SOUND MIXING

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN MAIN TITLE AND GRAPHIC DESIGN

The Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2011 calendar year. This year's gala will be held at the prestigious Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 in Beverly Hills, CA.

The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards gala, which honors the crafts behind the many shows that grace the Daytime genre will return to the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 17th, 2012.
