NBC's NIGHT SHIFT Jumps +17% Week to Week, Updated Results

NBC won Tuesday night in 18-49 and total viewers among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox:

With the #1 and #2 shows of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49, "America's Got Talent" and "The Night Shift."
Leading six of six half-hours among the Big 4 in 18-49 and total viewers.
With both "Talent" and "Night Shift" winning their slots among the Big 4 in every key measure.

"America's Got Talent" (2.6/9 in 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) is up +24% versus its prior original telecast on Sunday, June 22 in 18-49 rating, and maintained 100% of the result from its last two Tuesday originals (2.6 on both June 10 and 17). Last night's "Talent" equaled the show's highest 18-49 rating since June 3 (2.9), despite running an encore in this slot last week. Versus the same night last year, "Talent" was up by +8% in 18-49 rating (with a 2.6 vs. a 2.4 on July 2, 2013) and up +17% in total viewers (11.136 million vs. 9.555 million).

"America's Got Talent" beat the combined ABC-CBS-Fox-CW competition in the time period last night in adults 18-49 (2.6 vs. a combined 2.5).

"America's Got Talent" grew steadily through its four half-hours with this track: 2.1, 2.4, 2.9, 3.1. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Talent" grew by +48% in 18-49 rating (to a 3.1 from a 2.1) and by +27% and 2.6 million persons in total viewers (12.3 million vs. 9.7 million). From its first hour to its second, "Talent" grew by 0.7 of a point (3.0 vs. 2.3), its strongest hour-to-hour growth so far this season.

Renewed for a second season by NBC yesterday, "The Night Shift" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) jumped versus last week by +17% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.2) and by +16% in total viewers (6.9 million vs. 5.9 million). "The Night Shift" won the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure. "Night Shift" was the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49, behind only "Talent."

"The Night Shift" delivered its top 18-49 rating since June 10 (1.5) generated its biggest overall audience (7.164 million) since the May 27 debut (7.669 million).

In its sixth week, "The Night Shift" is still retaining 88% of its premiere 1.6 in 18-49 on May 27, which was NBC's top summer drama debut in five years (since "The Philanthropist," June 24, 2009).

NBC is #1 among the Big 4 networks in all key measures.
