As first reported on TVline.com, NBC's upcoming reworked version of the 1960's classic comedy THE MUNSTERS will be given a new title, '1313 Mockingbird Lane.' The name refers to the postal address of the run-down Victorian-style mansion at which the family resides.  X MEN scribe Bryan Singer is set to direct and executive produce the upcoming TV series.

Based on the original black and white series from the 1960's, THE MUNSTERS just recently received the go ahead for a pilot. Bryan Fuller will join Singer as executive producer of the project. Fuller has made past attempts to bring back the popular series which aired on CBS from 1964 - 66. CBS opted to pass on the idea, and the series has now found a home on the NBC network.

The new sitcom will have a darker edge to it and will uncover the background of the series' lead characters, Herman and Lily Munster.

Bryan Singer has directed and produced many of Hollywood's biggest hit movies in the past few years, including the X-Men franchise, Superman Returns, Valkyrie and the upcoming Jack the Giant Killer. He has also served as director for the TV series House and Football Wives.
