After winning the first quarter of 2016 in the key A25-54 demo, "Meet the Press with Chuck Todd" (MTP) continued its dominance with the audience this past Sunday, delivering a win with 1.104 million viewers and holding its #1 lead with the audience season-to-date.
With 3.699 million total viewers this past Sunday, MTP posted its 13thstraight win over ABC's "This Week" and trailed CBS' "Face the Nation" half-hour by only seven percent, despite being rated for fifteen minutes more.
MTP has now dominated the influential Washington, D.C. market as the most-watched Sunday show for more than a year (since 3/22/2015). This past Sunday, the show posted its biggest lead in viewers over
ABC in the market in more than seven years - since Tom Brokaw's interview with then President-elect Barack Obama (12/7/2008).
Nationally, MTP saw improvement over season-to-date levels, gaining two percent in total viewers and nine percent in the key demo.
The show has now averaged more than one million viewers in the key A25-54 demo for 12 consecutive broadcasts - the longest streak among Sundays shows since MTP accomplished this between late 2010 and early 2011.
An additional 1.883 million total viewers and 595,000 A25-54 viewers watched MTP with rebroadcasts on the
NBC network and on MSNBC.
