Actor, writer, producer, television host and comedian Seth Meyers recently discussed taking over Jimmy Fallon's spot on NBC's "Late Night" and how he keeps his comedy fresh. Meyers said "Taking over Weekend Update all those years ago, I was so worried on how I would put my twist on it. In the end, if you just kind of go out and trust your taste and you bring your own sensibility to it, you define yourself overtime".
During his interview with Maria Menounos' Black Hollywood Live network, the 1st online entertainment network targeting African Americans, Meyers explained his thoughts on diversity in Hollywood and hiring Amber Ruffin, the 1st African American female writer for late night TV. "I knew Amber from years ago..we worked at a theater in Amsterdam called Boom Chicago, she worked at 2nd City with a lot of the other people we hired, I've just been able to be impressed by her over the years, so it made sense that she was a perfect hire".
With the recent release of the upcoming schedule for the Winter Olympics starting on NBC in February, many fans are anticipating watching the events including Meyers. When asked what sport he would compete in, if he could be an Olympic athlete...Meyers jokingly said "I feel bad cause I'm sure its really hard, but Luge looks pretty easy, so I think like I would have to go to one or two practices, definitely not two man Luge cause I would just get closterphobic and I don't want to do that".
Late night receives a new makeover, as we anticipate checking out the Seth Meyer's "twist".
