NBC's GRIMM Takes Time Period

At 8 p.m. ET, "Fashion Star" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall) finished within 0.1 of a point of its previous 18-49 rating (which matched the series high), despite the prior week's preemption for news coverage. In total viewers, "Fashion Star" is currently running within 1 percent of that prior telecast (2.916 million vs. 2.945 million on April 12), making this the #2 "Fashion Star" since March 8, when the season premiere averaged 2.961 million viewers (pending updates).

* At 9 p.m. ET, "Grimm" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall), which aired its first original in three weeks, finished within 0.1 of its 1.4 average for originals since returning to the schedule on March 8 and also rated within 0.2 of its prior original (1.5 on April 5). "Grimm" Built on its lead-in last night by 86 percent in 18-49 rating and 67 percent in total viewers. "Grimm" is the #1 scripted series in the time period on CBS, NBC and FOX in every key demographic.

* Note that "Grimm" is one of the most time-shifted series on broadcast television, with the show's prior original on April 5 growing by 79 percent from its "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (1.51) to its "live plus seven day" result (2.70).

* From 10-11 p.m. ET, "Rock Center with BrIan Williams" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall) scored its second-highest adult 18-49 and 25-54 ratings (1.3) in seven weeks (since March 8), trailing over that span only the prior week's series-record ratings with coverage of the capture of the Boston bombing suspect. In total viewers, it's the #2 "Rock Center" in four weeks (since March 29).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday night:

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.6/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/5 with an encore.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 Wednesday results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/3; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/4 with an encore.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
