NBC has averaged a 1.1 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 4.9 million viewers overall for the primetime ratings week of Jan. 18-24 , according to "live plus same day" results from Nielsen Media Research.
Ranking among the week's Top 30 primetime programs on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 last week were Tuesday's "Chicago Fire" (tied for #12), Monday's "Superstore" (tied for #17), Wednesday's "Law & Order: SVU" (tied for #17), Thursday's "Blacklist" (tied for #23), Tuesday's "Chicago Med" (tied for #23) and Wednesday's "Chicago P.D." (tied for #27). Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.
Through the opening 18 weeks of the 2015-16 season,
NBC ranks #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics, while placing #2 in total viewers.
NBC leads the season by a +13% margin in adults 18-49 (2.6 vs. a 2.3 for #2 CBS), up from a year-ago lead of +4%. It's the biggest margin through 18 weeks of the season for any network in six years, since
FOX held a +16% lead at this point in 2009-10.
NBC is matching its year-ago season average in adults 18-49 (2.6 vs. 2.6, "most current") and adults 25-54 (3.2 vs. 3.2), and is up +3% season to season in total viewers (9.3 million vs. 9.0 million).
The 9.3 million is NBC's highest total-viewer average 18 weeks into the season in nine years (since averaging 9.9 million at this point in 2006-07).
Primetime averages for the week of Jan. 18-24 in adults 18-49 are: Fox, 4.4 rating, 14 share; CBS, 1.5/5; NBC, 1.1/4; ABC, 1.1/3 and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: Fox, 13.2 million; CBS, 8.7 million; NBC, 4.9 million; ABC, 4.0 million; and CW, 2.0 million.
"Most current" averages for the season to date are: NBC, 2.6/9; CBS, 2.3/8; Fox, 2.1/7; ABC, 1.8/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 11.1 million; NBC, 9.3 million; ABC, 6.8 million; Fox, 6.4 million; and CW, 1.8 million.
