Despite an encore recap episode of "The Voice," NBC ranked #1 Tuesday night among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 (with a 2.3 rating vs. a 2.2 for CBS).
"Chicago Fire" (2.1/7 in 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the 10-11 p.m. hour among ABC,
CBS and
NBC in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus all key adult-female demos, despite an encore recap "Voice" lead-in.
"Chicago Fire" topped CBS's "Person of Interest" by a +31% margin in 18-49 (2.1 vs. 1.6) and beat ABC's "Forever" by +62% (2.1 vs. 1.3). "Chicago Fire" matched its year-ago rating in 18-49 (2.1 vs. 2.1 on Oct. 8, 2013) and is up versus the same night last year by +13% in total viewers (8.394 million vs. 7.429 million).
Last night's Chicago Fire" is up by +17% versus what the show was averaging at the end of last season through the May sweep in 18-49 rating (with a 2.1 vs. a 1.8) and is up by +19% or 1.4 million persons in total viewers (8.394 million vs. 7.034 million).
L+3: Last week's "Chicago Fire" increased by +40% in 18-49 rating (to a 3.17 from a 2.5327 and grew by 2.8 million viewers overall (to 11.5 million from 8.7 million) going from L+SD to L+3.
An encore "Best of the Blinds" recap episode of "The Voice" (2.4/8 in 18-49, 9.0 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) is the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49, behind only CBS's "NCIS" (2.6). The "Best of the Blinds" rebroadcast won its second hour in adults 18-49 versus regular original telecasts of such competition as "NCIS: New Orleans" and "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night:
In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.9/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.4/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/5.
In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.2/5; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2.
From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).
At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
