A clip-show encore of "American Ninja Warrior" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) is currently tied for #1 in the time period among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and is #1 outright among those nets in total viewers and adults 25-54, pending updates.
Heading into last night, "American Ninja Warrior" was up +10% summer to date versus one year ago in 18-49 (2.2 vs. 2.0, "most current") and up +25% or more than 1.4 million persons in total viewers (7.2 million vs. 5.8 million).
"American Ninja Warrior" will add substantial viewership via time-shifting -- "American Ninja Warrior" originals have grown by +18% in 18-49 rating going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" ratings (from a 1.91 to a 2.25) and 866,000 viewers overall (6.4 million to 7.3 million).
"Running Wild with Bear Grylls" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) won the time period among ABC,
CBS and
NBC in adults 18-49, as well as men and women 18-49, adults and men 25-54 and adults, men and women 18-34 with an episode featuring James Marsden.
"Running Wild with Bear Grylls" will add significant viewership via time-shifting -- "Running Wild" is increasing by +20% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.22 to a 1.47) and 632,000 viewers overall (3.6 million to 4.3 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday Night:
In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.2/6 with an encore telecast; "CBS Summer Showcase," 1.6/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5.
In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "CBS Summer Showcase," 0.2/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.
From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.1/1 with an encore).
At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
For the Week:
NBC has won its fifth consecutive primetime ratings week in the key demographic of adults 18-49, with "America's Got Talent" ranking as the #1 telecast for the week of Aug. 10-16 in 18-49 and "American Ninja Warrior," "Hollywood Game Night," "Running Wild with Bear Grylls," "Dateline NBC," "Last Comic Standing," and "Mr. Robinson" also generating top-20 rankings among the week's primetime shows on ABC, CBS,
NBC and Fox.
NBC accounted for 9 of the week's top 20 Big 4 programs in adults 18-49 (rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows).
According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research,
NBC averaged a 1.1 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 for the week and 4.5 million viewers overall.
NBC rated #1 or tied for #1 for the week among the Big 4 in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.
"America's Got Talent" ranked #1 among the week's Big 4 primetime programs in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, teens 12-17 (tie) and kids 2-11. In total viewers, the Tuesday and Wednesday "Talent" telecasts were #1-2 on those nets.
"Talent" has ranked #1 among primetime Big 4 telecasts, excluding sports, during 13 of its 13 weeks on the schedule this summer in total viewers and 11 of 13 weeks in adults 18-49 (L+SD, including one tie).
NBC accounted nine of the week's top 20 primetime telecasts in 18-49 on ABC, CBS,
NBC and Fox, with Tuesday's "Talent" (#1), Monday's "Ninja Warrior" (#5), Wednesday's "Talent" (#7), Tuesday's "Hollywood Game Night" (tied for #11), Monday's "Running Wild" (tied for #11), "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" (#14), Wednesday's "Last Comic" (tied for #15), Wednesday's 9 p.m. "Mr. Robinson" (tied for #18) and Friday's "Dateline" (tied for #18).
For the 52-week 2014-15 season to date,
NBC ranks #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and is #1 or tied for #1 among those nets in adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos.
In total viewers,
NBC is #2 for the season, and running within 6% of its year-ago Olympics-boosted average (7.7 million vs. 8.3 million).
