Led by Sunday's telecast of "The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards," which was among the top programs of the week in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, NBC averaged a 2.0 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 6.6 million viewers overall for the week of January 9-15, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.
In a week in which the top tier of the weekly rankings was occupied by NFL coverage, NBC's Sunday telecast of "The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards" ranked among the top non-sports programs of the week in all key measures. The "Golden Globe Awards" was the #4 non-sports program in adults 18-49 and the #2 non-sports program in adults 25-54. With an average 16.9 million viewers, the "Golden Globes" telecast was the #2 non-ports program of the week in total viewers.
Also of note, "The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards" was the #1 non-sports program of the week in all key adult-female demographics - women 18-34, women 18-49 and women 25-54.
Primetime averages for the week of January 9-15 in adults 18-49 were CBS (3.7/10), Fox (3.2/8), ABC (2.2/6), NBC (2.0/5) and CW (0.5/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (13.9 million), Fox (8.7 million), ABC (7.0 million), NBC (6.6 million) and CW (1.3 million).

* On Sunday, "The 69th Annual Golden Globes" won its highly competitive three-hour time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures versus such time-period competition as Fox's "The Simpsons," "Family Guy" and premiere of "Napoleon Dynamite," CBS's season premiere of "Undercover Boss" and "The Good Wife" and ABC's "Once Upon a Time," "Desperate Housewives" and "Pan Am."
* "The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards" delivered NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in its Sunday time period, excluding sports, since last year's Golden Globes and the highest 18-49 and total-viewer scores for any network in the slot, excluding sports, since ABC's telecast of the Academy Awards in February 2011.
* "The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards" telecast is currently the season's #1 awards show to date in adults 18-49 and total viewers, ahead of ABC's "CMA Awards" and "American Music Awards" and Fox's "Emmy Awards" and "American Country Awards."
* On Thursday, the sixth season premiere of "30 Rock" scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the 8 p.m. ET time period since September 29 and matched NBC's top non-sports rating in the half-hour since February 3, 2011.

* Additionally on Thursday, "Parks and Recreation" attracted its biggest overall viewership since October 6 and its highest 18-49 rating since November 17 and "The Office" built on its "Parks" lead-in by 53 percent in 18-49 rating and 44 percent in total viewers.
* On Wednesday, "Are You There, Chelsea?" debuted with NBC's highest 18-49 rating of the season in the Wednesday 8:30 p.m. ET time period. The 2.3 achieved by "Are You There, Chelsea?" marks NBC's highest regular-season rating in the slot since January 5, 2011. "Chelsea" ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in the time period in adults 18-49 and other key demos.
* Also on Wednesday, "Whitney" premiered in its new 8 p.m. time period with NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the slot since October 19. "Whitney" also attracted its biggest overall viewership since the show made its series debut on September 22, following "The Office."
* On Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser 13" ranked #2 in its two-hour time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures in a competitive time period opposite CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: LA" and ABC's "Last Man Standing," "Work It" and "Celebrity Wife Swap"
* Also on Tuesday, "Parenthood" ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in the hour in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures and was #1 in adults 18-34.
* NBC ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in primetime Tuesday in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and other key measures and tied for #1 in women 18-34.
* On Monday, "Who's Still Standing?" scored its highest Monday 18-49 rating to date and attracted its biggest overall viewership of its seven telecasts to date on any night of the week.
* Also on Monday, "Fear Factor" tied for #1 among the broadcast networks in the key demographic of adults 18-49 and was #1 outright in other key demos. "Fear Factor" was up 53 percent in adults 18-49 and 29 percent in total viewers versus NBC's average in the time period this season prior to "Fear Factor."

On Monday, January 9 at 8 p.m. ET, "Who's Still Standing?" (1.6 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) scored the highest 18-49 rating of its four Monday telecasts to date and attracted the biggest overall viewership of its seven telecasts thus far on all nights of the week. Week to week, "Who's Still Standing?" was up 7 percent in 18-49 rating (1.6 vs. 1.5) and up 11 percent in total viewers (6.186 million vs. 5.556 million). "Who's Still Standing?" was up 20 percent in total viewers versus NBC's season average in the time period prior to "Who's Still Standing?" (6.186 million vs. 5.151 million).
"Who's Still Standing?" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.
For a seventh consecutive telecast, "Who's Still Standing?" exhibited solid growth from its first half-hour to its second, gaining 13 percent from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 (to a 1.7 rating from a 1.5) and 9 percent in total viewers (6.462 million vs. 5.910 million).
Monday at 9 p.m. ET, "Fear Factor" (2.3/5 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall) tied for #1 among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49. "Fear Factor" built on its lead-in by 44 percent in 18-49 rating to outscore the concluding hour of ABC's first-run "The Bachelor" in adults 18-49 in head-to-head competition from 9-10 p.m. (2.3 vs. 2.2).
Versus NBC's average in the time period this season prior to "Fear Factor," Monday's "Fear Factor" was up 53 percent in adults 18-49 (with a 2.3 rating vs. a 1.5, "live plus same day") and 29 percent in total viewers (5.529 million vs. 4.281 million).
Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Rock Center with Brian Williams" averaged a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall.
On Tuesday, January 10 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser 13" (2.4/6 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in its two-hour time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures in a competitive time period opposite CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: LA," ABC's "Last Man Standing," "Work It" and "Celebrity Wife Swap" and Fox's encores of "Glee," "The New Girl" and "Raising Hope." "Biggest Loser" grew from its first half-hour to its fourth in all key measures, including gains of 14 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.5 rating from a 2.2) and 10 percent in total viewers (to 7.029 from a 6.398).
"The Biggest Loser 13" outperformed week two of ABC's "Celebrity Wife Swap" head-to-head from 9-10 p.m. ET in adults 18-49 (with a 2.4 rating in that hour vs. a 2.1) and also topped week two of ABC's "Work It" head to head from 8:30-9 p.m. ET (2.4 vs. 1.5). "Biggest Loser 13" maintained the 18-49 rating of its prior week's premiere and was up week to week by 1 percent in total viewers (6.653 million vs. 6.589 million).
At 10 p.m. ET, "Parenthood" (1.7/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in the hour in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures and was #1 in adults 18-34. It's worth noting that so far this season, "Parenthood" has been adding an average 43 percent in adults 18-49 to these "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results.
NBC ranked #2 among the broadcast networks Tuesday night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and other key measures and tied for #1 among women 18-34.
On Wednesday, January 11 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Whitney" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) premiered in its new regular time period with NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the half-hour since October 19 and biggest overall viewership in the slot since November 30. Note that so far this season, first-run telecasts of "Whitney" have been adding on average 34 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results.
In the time period, "Whitney" ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demographics. "Whitney's" 2.0 in 18-49 marks the show's highest rating since November 10, in the show's prior regular time period on Thursdays following "The Office." The 5.8 million total viewers for "Whitney" marks the show's biggest overall viewership since its debut on Thursday, September 22 (6.8 million). Versus NBC's results in the half-hour on the same night last year, "Whitney" was up 33 percent in adults 18-49 (2.0 vs. 1.5) and 15 percent in total viewers (5.789 million vs. 5.022 million).
Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET, "Are You There, Chelsea?" (2.3/6 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) premiered with NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since September 14 and biggest overall viewership in the slot since November 30. "Chelsea" built on its lead-in by 15 percent in 18-49 rating and 7 percent in total viewers and ranked #2 in the slot among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and numerous other key demos.
The 2.3 18-49 rating achieved by "Are You There, Chelsea?" marks NBC's highest regular-season rating in the slot since January 5, 2011. Versus NBC's average in the time period last season, "Chelsea" was up 64 percent in 18-49 rating (2.3 vs. 1.4) and up 22 percent in total viewers (6.182 million vs. 5.072 million).
Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Harry's Law" (1.2/3 in adults 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall) matched its season average for original episodes in 18-49 while improving on its "live plus same day" season average in total viewers by 7 percent (8.386 million vs. 7.839 million). "Harry's Law" built on its lead-in by 36 percent in total viewers. Note that so far this season first-run episodes of "Harry's Law" have been adding on average 42 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results.
Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.0/5 in 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall) locked up its second-biggest overall viewership of the season, behind only the 9.9 million it delivered on November 30. "SVU" built on its lead-in by 67 percent in 18-49 rating. Versus its most recent first-run telecast on December 7, "SVU" was up 5 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.0 rating from a 1.9) and 19 percent in total viewers (8.395 million vs. 7.030 million). Note that first-run episodes of "Law & Order: SVU" so far this season have been adding on average 45 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" ratings when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results.
On Thursday, January 12 at 8 p.m. ET, the sixth season premiere of "30 Rock" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period since September 29 and matched NBC's top non-sports rating in the half-hour since February 3, 2011. In a highly competitive time period opposite CBS's "Big Bang Theory," Fox's "Bones," ABC's "Wipeout" and CW's "Vampire Diaries," "30 Rock" finished #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34.
Thursday at 8:30 ET, "Parks and Recreation" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall) attracted its biggest overall viewership since October 6 and its highest 18-49 rating since November 17. "Parks" built on its lead-in by 6 percent in 18-49 rating. In a competitive time period opposite CBS's premiere of "Rob," Fox's "Bones," ABC's "Wipeout" and CW's "Vampire Diaries," "30 Rock" finished #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34. Keep in mind that on average this season, original telecasts of "Parks" have been adding 34 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating when Nielsen includes additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.
Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "The Office" (2.9/7 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 53 percent in 18-49 rating and 44 percent in total viewers. In the time period, "The Office" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults and women 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics in a competitive time period opposite ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," CBS's "Person of Interest" and Fox's premiere of "The Finder." Note that on average this season, "Office" originals have been adding 44 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.
"The Office" matched the 18-49 rating of its past three first-run telecasts and delivered its biggest overall audience since November 10.
Thursday at 9:31 ET, "Up All Night" (2.0/5 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) debuted in its new time period with NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the slot since November 10 and biggest overall audience since November 3. "Up All Night" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34 in a competitive time period opposite the concluding hours of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," CBS's "Person of Interest" and Fox's premiere of "The Finder." Note that "Up All Night" originals on Wednesday night have been adding on average 48 percent to their "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.
Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, the regular time period debut of "The Firm" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall.
On Friday, January 13 at 8 p.m. ET, "Chuck" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers overall. Note that on average this season, "Chuck" originals have been adding 40 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 ratings when Nielsen reports additional time-shifted viewing in "live plus seven day" ratings.
Friday at 9 p.m. ET, "Grimm" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 56 percent in 18-49 rating and 47 percent in total viewers. In the time period, "Grimm" tied for #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. So far this season, first-run episodes of "Grimm" have been adding an average 55 percent to their next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating when Nielsen reports time-shifted "live plus seven day" results.
Friday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.3/4, 5.2 million viewers overall) grew from its first half-hour to its second by 8 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.3), 12 percent in adults 25-54 (1.9 vs. 1.7) and 14 percent in total viewers (5.6 million vs. 4.9 million).
On Saturday, Jan. 14 from 8-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Firm" averaged a 0.4/1 in 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers overall versus NFL coverage on CBS and an NFL overrun on Fox.
Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: SVU" (0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall) grew from its first half-hour to its second in nearly all key ratings categories, including gains of 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.7 from a 0.6), 22 percent in adults 25-54 (1.1 vs. 0.9) and 25 percent in total viewers (3.785 million vs. 3.036 million).
On Sunday January 15 from 8-11 p.m. ET, and live in all time zones, "The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards" (5.0/12 in 18-49, 16.9 million viewers overall) delivered NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period, excluding sports, since last year's Golden Globes telecast on January 16, 2011 and the highest 18-49 and total-viewer figures for any networks in this time period, excluding sports, since ABC's Academy Awards coverage on February 27, 2011.
This year's "Golden Globe Awards" finished within 4 percent of last year's telecast in 18-49 rating (5.0 vs. 5.2) and within 1 percent in total viewers (16.851 million vs. 17.001 million). The telecast is currently the season's #1 awards show to date in adults 18-49 and total viewers, ahead of ABC's "CMA Awards" and "American Music Awards" and Fox's "Emmy Awards" and "American Country Awards."
Versus NBC's non-sports average in this time period last season, "The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards" telecast was up 138 percent in 18-49 rating (5.0 vs. 2.1) and 163 percent in total viewers (16.851 million vs. 6.413 million).

For the third consecutive year, the "Golden Globes" were televised live in all time zones, and some western markets also carried an encore telecast immediately following the live coverage.
