NBCSN presents Pivotal Stanley Cup Playoff Game 4 Matchups Tonight

NBCSN presents a pair of pivotal Game 4 Stanley Cup Playoff matchups tonight, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Evgeni Malkin and the (2) Pittsburgh Penguins host Alex Ovechkin and the (1) Washington Capitals, with Pittsburgh leading the series 2-1.

Coverage shifts west to Edmonton at 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when Connor McDavid and the (2) Oilers host Ryan Getzlaf and the (1) Anaheim Ducks, with the Oilers leading the series 2-1. Pre-game begins with NHL Live tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Washington avoided a 3-0 series hole with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 3 on Monday night, as Kevin Shattenkirk netted the game-winning goal early in overtime for the Capitals. THE STORY of the game was the injury to Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, who left early in the first period after suffering a cross-check to the head by Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen. Niskanen was given a five-minute major and game misconduct, and will not be suspended. Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan has said Crosby will miss tonight's Game 4 after being diagnosed with a concussion.

Last night on NHL Live, Mike Milbury, Keith Jones, and Kathryn Tappen discussed all elements of the injury Crosby suffered, including the actions of Alex Ovechkin and Niskanen; whether discipline was properly levied by both the game officials and the league office; and what the impact of Crosby's absence will have on Game 4 and possibly the rest of the series. (1) ANAHEIM DUCKS AT (2) EDMONTON OILERS - GAME 4 TONIGHT AT 10 P.M. ET - OILERS LEAD 2-1

Anaheim won a wild Game 3 in Edmonton by a score of 6-3. The Ducks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, only to see the Oilers storm back to tie the game at three before pulling away with the final three goals of the game. Ducks forward Jakub Silfverberg scored twice in the game, and leads the club with six goals in the postseason.

Connor McDavid scored a highlight-reel goal in the second period to tie the game at three for Edmonton, his third goal of the playoffs. The road team has won all three games in this series. Edmonton is 2-2 at home, while the Ducks are 3-0 on the road in the postseason.

NASHVILLE MARKET PRODUCES RECORD LOCAL RATINGS FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE GAME

Fans in NASHVILLE have been energized by the impressive play of the Predators this postseason, and for the second consecutive game, the NASHVILLE market has set local ratings records. Last night's 2-1 win by the Predators over the Blues in Game 4 on NBCSN posted a 7.9 rating in Nashville, setting the record for the highest-rated Predators game ever on NBCSN in the market.

This comes on the heels of the Predators' 3-1 win in Game 3 on NBC which delivered a 9.9 rating in NASHVILLE to rank as the highest-rated Predators game ever on NBC in the market.
