NBCUniversal, Verizon and Macy's today announced a first-of-its-kind content experience, featuring a 360 livestream of the MACY'S THANKGIVING DAY PARADE on Verizon's Youtube page. Until now, the only way to experience the parade was through NBC's telecast or to be settled in with the masses along the route. This year, Verizon will provide a whole new way to experience the parade with the 360 Livestream, featuring a special curated program hosted by Marlon Wayans and Olivia Culpo.
With five strategically placed 360 cameras along the parade route, audiences will be able to view the livestream from different angles, coupled with graphic pop-ups featuring fun facts about the parade. The livestream will be synced with the start of the parade on November 24 at 9am EST on NBC. The content will live on Verizon's Youtube page at www.youtube.com/verizon. "With Verizon, we're leaning-in to technology to bring the 'Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade' to audiences at home in a way that has never been done before," said Linda Yaccarino, Chairman, Advertising Sales and Client Partnerships, NBCUniversal. "This partnership shows NBCUniversal's continued commitment to develop unique solutions for clients and enhance how our viewers watch content regardless of platform." "We are always looking for new and creative ways to transform the way content is delivered to consumers," said John Nitti, Chief Media Officer, Verizon. "With this partnership, we are providing a front row seat to the parade regardless of where you are. By leveraging the latest technology, the 360 Livestream offers an immersive experience coupled with curated programming, and brings a first-of-its-kind experience to consumers on Verizon's Youtube page."Videos
