NBC and WWE will once again honor the United States Armed Forces with the annual "WWE Tribute to the Troops" holiday celebration. The one-hour television special will air on Saturday, Dec. 28 (8-9 p.m. ET) on NBC.
"WWE Tribute to the Troops" will feature musical guest Daughtry, as well as "Access Hollywood's" Michelle Beadle and comedian Jeff Dunham, along with WWE's biggest superstars and divas. Thousands of military personnel and their families will be in attendance for the special that will tape at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
Celebrity shout-outs from some of the today's biggest names in Hollywood, including Will Ferrell, Bruce Willis, Ryan Seacrest, Christina Applegate and Stephen Colbert, will also be a part of the special.
"Tribute to the Troops is WWE's way of thanking those who have sacrificed so much for our country as well as those who continue to defend our freedom today," said WWE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Vince McMahon. "We are proud to continue this annual tradition with our partners at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Governor Inslee."
WWE worked with Washington Gov. Jay Inslee in selecting the joint base for this show. The largest operational base in the world, Joint Base Lewis-McChord houses more than 100,000 civilians, troops and family members from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.
"WWE Tribute to the Troops" will also chronicle WWE's goodwill visit to U.S. troops overseas. McMahon,
WWE Superstars Big Show and R-Truth and WWE Divas Eva Marie and Alicia
FOX will travel overseas to spread some much needed holiday cheer to the men and women serving our country far from home during the holiday season.
