NBC has scored a decisive win for Week 2 of the 2016-17 primetime TV season in the key adult 18-49 demographic, with five of the top ten rankings among primetime shows on the Big 4 networks being accounted for by "Sunday Night Football," Monday's NBC News Presidential Debate Analysis, two editions of "The Voice" and the hit new drama "This Is Us," according to "live plus same day" ratings from Nielsen Media Research.
For the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2,
NBC ranked #1 among ABC, CBS,
NBC and
FOX in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 - and also ranked #1 in adults 18-49 counting entertainment programming only (excluding live news and sports).
In adults 18-49 for the week, "Sunday Night Football" ranked #1 among primetime telecasts on the Big 4, Monday's Debate Analysis ranked #2, Tuesday's "Voice" finished #5, Monday's "Voice" ranked #6 and Tuesday's "This Is Us" tied for #9 (rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows).
In total viewers,
NBC accounted for four of the week's top seven primetime shows on the Big 4 with #1 "SNF," #5 Debate Analysis, #6 Tuesday "Voice" and #7 Monday "Voice."
In its second week, NBC's "This Is Us" was again the top-rated first-year drama of the week in 18-49 and has now delivered the two highest ratings for any telecast of any new drama on ABC, CBS,
NBC or
FOX so far this season
NBC has now ranked #1 among the Big 4 networks in viewers 18-49 for 14 of the last 15 weeks.
