NBC has won Week 2 of the 2015-16 primetime season, leading among the Big 4 networks for a second week in a row in the key adult 18-49 measure and every other key demographic. It's the fourth straight year NBC has won the opening two weeks of the new season in 18-49.
NBC maintained 100% of its adult 18-49 rating for the same week last year (2.7 vs. 2.7), even before the inclusion of additional time-shifting and viewership on other platforms, and is up versus a year ago in total viewers (9.3 million vs. 9.0 million), men 18-49 and men 25-54.
According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research,
NBC averaged a 2.7 rating, 9 share in adults 18-49 and 9.3 million viewers overall for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
NBC's "Sunday Night Football" is the #1 primetime telecast of the week on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-34, all key adult-male demos and kids 2-11.
Also ranking in the top 10 among the week's Big 4 primetime programs in adults 18-49 were both Tuesday and Monday editions of "The Voice" (#5 and #6 respectively) and Monday's "Blindspot" (#10, and the week's top-rated new program). Joining those shows in the Top 35 were Tuesday's "Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris" (tied for #21) , Thursday's season debut of "The Blacklist" (tied for #26), Wednesday's season premiere of Chicago P.D." (tied for #29) and Wednesday's "Law & Order: SVU" (tied for #29). Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.
Note on Year-to-Year Comparisons: Keep in mind that for Week 2 this year,
FOX benefited from the high-rated Sunday NFL overrun, while last year,
CBS received that significant boost.
It's the 13th consecutive week
NBC has ranked #1 or tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, the longest unbeaten streak for any network in six years, since
FOX won 17 weeks in a row in 2009 from the week of Feb. 2 to the week of May 25, 2009. The 13-week streak is also NBC's longest in 12 years, since the network finished #1 or tied for #1 for 16 consecutive weeks in 2003 from the week of May 26 through the week of Sept. 8, 2003.

· The week's #1 results for a first-year series from "Blindspot."
