Coverage of the 2014/2015 season of the Premier League continues this weekend live on NBC UNIVERSO, the modern general entertainment cable channel for Latinos. On Sat., Apr. 18, Chelsea vs. Manchester United will air at 12:25 p.m. ET / 9:55 a.m. PT. On Sunday, Apr. 19, Manchester City will play West Ham at 8:25 a.m. ET / 5:25 a.m. PT; then Newcastle vs. Tottenham will follow beginning at 10:55 a.m. ET / 7:55 a.m. PT.
As the Premier League season is nearing the home stretch, Chelsea maintains a stronghold at the top of the table with 73 points, seven more than second place Arsenal and eight more points than third place Manchester United. The Blues are looking to extend its win streak to four consecutive and gather another three points, after last week's 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers. A victory over Manchester United will take them 10 points clear at the top of the table with six matches remaining. The Red Devils have extended their winning run to six top-flight matches, and can move into second with a win against the league leaders (Arsenal is not in league action this weekend). Manchester United has found its shooting form, having scored an impressive 15 goals in its last six fixtures.
For fourth place Manchester City, getting a win against West Ham and securing three points is mission critical, if it wants to keep champions title aspirations alive. West Ham is in mid-table and will enter the match free from the threat of relegation, as well as having no chance to qualify for the championship. The Hammers could pose as a real obstacle for the Citizens.
While Newcastle will be playing for pride as much as it will for a win, the same cannot be said for Tottenham. Despite posting both a loss and a draw in its last two games, the Spurs remain in contention for a championship spot. Currently, they are in seventh, but could leapfrog both Southampton and Liverpool, if both of those clubs fail to put up points this weekend.
Legendary commentator Andres Cantor and former Mexican National Team player Manuel Sol will narrate the Chelsea vs. Manchester United match. The following day, soccer analyst Sammy Sadovnik will make the call along with Sol.
