NBC Deportes presents Week 4 of the Liga MX Torneo Clausura 2016 with Pachuca vs. Monterrey today, January 30 at 9PM/8C/6P on NBC UNIVERSO and NBCDeportes.com digital platforms. Soccer's premier sportscaster, the acclaimed Andrés Cantor, will be on hand to bring viewers all the details of the on-field action, with commentary by the veteran Sammy Sadovnik three-time top Mexican scorer Carlos Hermosillo.
With two wins and one tie under its belt in the tournament so far, Pachuca is snapping at the heels of league leader León, and, depending on the results of the rest of the weekend's games, Uruguayan coach Diego Alonso could propel his team into first place. Pachuca's players are riding high following their 4-1 win over América at Azteca Stadium in Week 3, and they are determined to break their three-game streak without a win against Monterrey in tournament play. The last time Pachuca beat its rival to the north was in Week 10 of Clausura 2014.
Currently ranked second in the league tables, Monterrey is tied for points with super leader León and, with Pachuca, is one of four undefeated teams in these early days of the tournament. Monterrey can boast three straight wins: against Pumas, the second-place Apertura 2015 champion, Puebla and Atlas. Led by its charismatic coach, Antonio Mohamed, Monterrey also has the best defensive record in the league, giving up only one goal so far.
