NBC ranks #1 for Monday night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and total viewers, with "The Voice" and "Blindspot" leading six of six half-hours among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in 18-49. Starting with the 8:30 half-hour Sunday night, NBC has now led 11 consecutive primetime half-hours among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49.
Estimates After 7 Days of Time-Shifting and Alt-Platform Viewing:
· "The Voice," 4.4 rating in 18-49, 16.55 million viewers overall.
· "Blindspot," 3.8 in 18-49, 12.54 million.
"The Voice" (3.2/10 in 18-49, 13.3 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET):
· Is the #1 program of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 by a +45% margin (3.2 vs. 2.2 for the #2 show, ABC's "Bachelor").
· Retains 94% of last week's premiere in 18-49 (3.2 vs. 3.4) and grows in total viewers (13.349 vs. 13.332 million).
· Grows +14% versus what the Monday "Voice" was averaging at the end of its prior cycle in 18-49 (3.2 vs. 2.8 for the final fourMonday "Voice 9" telecasts last fall) and +9% in total viewers (13.349 million vs. 12.284 million).
· Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD - season to date, Monday's "Voice" has grown by +24% going from L+SD to L+7 in 18-49 rating (from a 3.12 to a 3.88) and more than 2.2 million viewers overall (12.0 million to 14.3 million).
"Blindspot" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET):
· Wins the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure.
· Takes the slot among those nets by a +64% margin in adults 18-49 (1.8 vs. 1.1 for ABC's #2 "Castle").
· Retains 100% of last week's 1.8 for the show's mid-season return in 18-49.
· Is the #1 scripted show of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49.
· Will grow dramatically via time-shifting and VOD viewership:
o L+7: "Blindspot" has increased by +78% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 2.33 to a 4.14) and more than 5.5 million viewers overall (8.3 million to 13.9 million) going from L+SD to L+7. "Blindspot" is the #1 series on the Big 4 this season in viewership gains going from L+SD to L+7 (+5.533 million).
o L+3: Last week's "Blindspot" grew by +64% going from "live plus same day" to "live plus three day" ratings in 18-49 (1.79 to 2.93) and by more than 3.6 million viewers overall (6.8 million to 10.5 million). "Blindspot" delivered Monday's biggest L+3 lifts in 18-49 rating (+1.14) and total viewers (+3.6 million).
· Upscale: "Blindspot" is generating a strong upscale audience, indexing at a 126 among adults 18-49 living in home with $100K+ incomes ("most current," including L+3).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.4/6 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.9/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
For the Week:
· NBC has won the primetime ratings week of Feb. 29-March 6 in adults 18-49, with the Monday and Tuesday premieres of "The Voice 10" ranking #1 and 2 for the week among primetime telecasts on the Big 4 networks.
· NBC has now won 16 of 24 weeks so far this season in 18-49 (L+SD), while the other networks have combined to take the other eight. According to "live plus same day" results from Nielsen Media Research for the week of Feb. 29-March 6, NBC averaged a 1.5 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall for the week.
· NBC ranked #1 or tied for #1 for the week in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.
· Joining the two "Voice" premieres in the week's top 25 primetime programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX were Monday's"Blindspot" (tied for #13), Wednesday's "Law & Order: SVU" (tied for #18), Wednesday's "Chicago P.D." (tied for #20), NBC News' Super Tuesday election coverage (tied for #20) and Sunday's "Dateline NBC" (tied for #25). Rankings excluding sports pre- and post-game shows.
· "The Voice" also ranked #1-2 among the week's Big 4 programs in adults, men and women 25-54; men and women 18-49; and kids 2-11, while also finishing #1 in teens 12-17.
· Season to date, NBC is running within 0.2 of a rating point of #1 behind Super Bowl- and Grammy-boosted CBS in adults 18-49 and is tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-34 and women 18-34.
· NBC's total-viewer average of 8.561 million is the network's highest at this point in a season without a SUPER BOWL or Olympic boost since 2007-08 (8.576 million).
