NBC Sports presents live coverage of the Rugby World Cup Final for the first time on U.S. network television, when New Zealand faces Australia at historic Twickenham Stadium in London, England today at noon ET on NBC.
New Zealand advanced to Saturday's Final following a 20-18 win over South
AFRICA in the semifinals, while Australia defeated Argentina by a score of 29-15. This marks the first time that New Zealand and Australia will meet in the Final, despite that fact that seven of the past eight Finals have featured one of the two teams.
In addition to NBC's coverage of the Final,
UNIVERSAL SPORTS NETWORK will air live coverage of the bronze final featuring South
AFRICA and Argentina on Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET, as well as an encore presentation of the Final on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
NBC Sports Live Extra -
NBC Sports Group's live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs - will stream the Rugby World Cup 2015 Final. UniversalSports.com will stream coverage of the South Africa-Argentina bronze final.
Veteran announcer Bill Seward serves as the play-by-play commentator for Rugby World Cup 2015 coverage on
NBC and
Universal Sports Network. He will be joined in the booth by former
USA Sevens captain and
USA Rugby World Cup participant Brian Hightower.
New Zealand is the reigning champion following its 8-7 victory against France in the Rugby World Cup 2011 Final. New Zealand (1987 & 2011) and Australia (1991 & 1999) have each won the Rugby World Cup twice, and neither team has lost a single match in this year's Rugby World Cup.
