Washington and Philadelphia clash this week on Wednesday Night Rivalry in their first meeting since last season's Stanley Cup Playoffs, when the Capitals defeated the Flyers in six games in their first-round series.

SNAPPED by the Stars in Dallas on Saturday. Philadelphia's offense has keyed the team's surge, led by the trio of Jakub Voracek (33 pts), Claude Giroux (30 pts), and Wayne Simmonds (29 pts), who all rank in the Top 20 in the NHL in points.
Washington (19-8-3, 41 pts) enters the week following a 2-1 loss to the Atlantic Division-leading Canadiens on Saturday, snapping their six-game winning streak. The Capitals' defense has stepped up the past two weeks, allowing just 14 goals in the team's last eight games (6-1-1). Washington has allowed the third-fewest goals this season (64), while the Flyers have scored the third-most goals (103).
Last week's Wednesday Night Rivalry matchup between the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins on
NBCSN averaged 705,000 viewers to rank as the network's most-watched NHL telecast since opening night (STL-CHI; 905,000 viewers).
Pittsburgh led all local markets with a 7.7 rating for the Penguins' 4-3 overtime victory on NBCSN. Boston produced a 3.3 local rating.
