No. 18 Notre Dame and No. 12 Michigan State will continue one of college football's greatest rivalries this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC, when the Fighting Irish host the Spartans in a primetime matchup at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind.
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish (1-1) enter Saturday's game following a 39-10 win against Nevada, in which QB DeShone Kizer completed 15 of 18 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio and the Spartans visit South Bend following a 28-13 win against Furman on September 2, in which QB Tyler O'Connor connected on 13 of 18 passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns.
Saturday night's matchup will mark the 78th meeting between the Fighting Irish and the Spartans, with the rivalry dating back to 1897. The two teams last met in 2013, when Notre Dame defeated Michigan State 17-13 at Notre Dame Stadium. The Fighting Irish hold a 48-28-1 all-time lead in the series.
