NBCSN will present daily highlight coverage of the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, beginning this Saturday, Feb. 13, at 12:30 a.m. ET/Friday, Feb. 12 at 9:30 p.m. PT, with a presentation of the Opening Ceremony.
NBCSN will provide 10 consecutive days of coverage with hour-long programs that feature the best highlights of each day's events in Lillehammer.
NBC Sports Group commentators Carolyn Manno, Jimmy Roberts, Liam McHugh, and Dave Briggs will combine to host NBCSN's coverage of the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
Events that will be featured at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games include alpine skiing, ice hockey, freestyle skiing and snowboarding, speedskating, luge,
CURLING and cross-country skiing.
NBC Sports will also provide digital coverage with updates and commentary throughout the Games.
NBCUniversal will present coverage of every edition of the Youth Olympic Games through 2032, per its agreement with the International Olympic Committee that was announced in 2014. This marks the second iteration of the Winter Youth Olympic Games, following the inaugural event in Innsbruck, Austria, in 2012, where Germany topped the medal count (17). Lillehammer previously served as the host of the Olympic Winter Games in 1994.
The 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games will feature approximately 1,100 athletes, ranging in age from 14 to 18, from an estimated 70 nations competing in 70 events across 15 disciplines. The Youth Olympic Games aim to bring together and celebrate the world's best young athletes, promote the Olympic values to youth communities throughout the world, and raise sports awareness and participation among young people.
