NBCSN will present KYLE & RUT'S RACING ROOTS: CLINT BOWYER, a 30-minute special chronicling eight-time NASCAR Cup Series winner Clint Bowyer's road to professional racing, and the hometown where his journey began, this Sunday, August 6, at 7:30 p.m. ET. Kyle & Rut's Racing Roots will air immediately following NBCSN's coverage of Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race from Watkins Glen International.
Hosted by auto racing icon and NASCAR on
NBC analyst Kyle Petty, and NASCAR on NBC's resident automobile aficionado Rutledge Wood, the
NBC Sports original program gives fans an in-depth look at Bowyer's start in motorsports, as well as the people, experiences, and hometown that made it all possible.
The driver of Stewart-Haas Racing's No. 14 Ford, brings Petty and Wood back to his hometown of Emporia, Kansas, where his auto racing career started. From visits to the local all-in-one shopping center, to the site of his first job, Bowyer shares some of the many places and experiences that shaped him into the driver he is today. The special features interviews with Bowyer's family and friends, including his father, Chris, who is still an active tow truck driver in Emporia.
"It was awesome bringing Kyle and Rut to my hometown of Emporia," said Bowyer. "Being able to share my story with them, and visit my old stomping grounds, really brought back some incredible memories for me. I hope it inspires others to dream big and aspire beyond their immediate surroundings."
As part of
