The NHL's brightest stars will be on full display this week on NBC and NBCSN, highlighted by NBC Sports' live coverage of the fast-paced 3-on-3 Honda NHL ALL-STAR GAME this Saturday night on NBC from SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., marking the first time in more than 20 years that the NHL ALL-STAR GAME will be shown live on broadcast television in primetime. Mike Tiricowill host coverage from San Jose which begins Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
This week's NHL coverage on NBC and NBCSN features some of the league's biggest names on a Wednesday Night Hockey doubleheader on NBCSN beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals visit Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The action shifts west to Las Vegas at 10 p.m. ET, when Marc-Andre Fleury and the Vegas Golden Knights host P.K. Subban and the NASHVILLE Predators.
NBC Sports kicks off this week's NHL action on NBCSN tonight at 9 p.m. ET when Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers host Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings.
NHL ALL-STAR WEEKEND
NBC Sports' comprehensive NHL All-Star Weekend coverage begins Friday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN with pre-game coverage leading into the 2019 SAP NHL All-Star Skills competition, as the league's top players compete in the following six events:
The NHL ALL-STAR GAME on Saturday night on NBC will feature a 3-on-3 tournament format for the fourth consecutive year. The Atlantic and Metropolitan Divisions will face off, followed by the Central vs. Pacific Division, with the winning teams meeting in a championship game to compete for $1 million.
NBC Sports will present a digital-only broadcast of the game on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app that will emphasize puck and player tracking data that will be presented in real time. Full details about NBC Sports' NHL All-Star Weekend coverage will be announced this week.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY - CAPITALS-MAPLE LEAFS AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Capitals (27-16-5, 59 pts) enter the week looking to snap a five-game losing streak, including an 8-5 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on the NHL Game of the Week on NBC on Sunday. Defenseman John Carlson scored a pair of goals for the Caps in the loss. Ovechkin continues to lead the league with 33 goals. Washington hosts San Jose tonight.
Toronto (29-17-2, 60 pts) is coming off a 4-2 loss to the Coyotes on Sunday. John Tavares scored his 30th goal of the season, tied for second in the NHL. Matthews has been held without a point in three straight games, but boasts 42 points in just 34 games played this season.
Pre-game coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. ET on NHL Live, hosted by Liam McHugh alongside analysts Mike Milbury, Keith Jones and NHL insider Darren Dreger. In addition, Kathryn Tappen will be on-site at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and will contribute to pre-game and intermission coverage.
Gord Miller (play-by-play), Brian Boucher (analyst) and Ray Ferraro ('Inside-the-Glass' analyst) will have the call.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY - PREDATORS-GOLDEN KNIGHTS AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Predators (29-18-4, 62 pts) are two points behind the Winnipeg Jets for the top spot in the Central Division and are coming off a 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Monday. Viktor Arvidsson scored his team-leading 19th goal of the season and Pekka Rinne made 35 saves.
Vegas (29-18-4, 62 pts) lost to the Minnesota Wild, 4-2, on Monday, but boasts a 7-3-0 record in its last 10 games. Alex Tuch leads the team with 39 points and scored his 16th goal of the year in the loss.

RED WINGS-OILERS - TONIGHT AT 9 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Oilers (23-23-3, 49 pts) enter the week three points behind Colorado and Dallas for the Wild Card spots in the Western Conference. Edmonton lost to Carolina, 7-4, on Sunday. Leon Draisaitl scored twice for the Oilers, while McDavid added a pair of assists.
The Red Wings (18-25-7, 43 pts) are IN SEARCH OF a win to wrap up their Western Canada road trip following losses at Calgary and Vancouver over the weekend. Dylan Larkin scored twice in Detroit's 6-4 loss to Calgary on Friday and leads the team with 20 goals.
