NBC Sports Gears Up for Pivotal Weekend at Phoenix International Raceway

With only two races left before the NASCAR Sprint Cup and XFINITY Series Champions are crowned, NBC Sports gears up for a pivotal weekend of racing from Phoenix International Raceway. The weekend's main event unfolds on NBC Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. ET when the Sprint Cup Championship round of four will be determined, and the NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship picture sharpens on NBCSN Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports heads to Phoenix on the heels of last weekend's showdown in Texas, where Jimmie Johnsonplayed spoiler and prevented Brad Keselowski from advancing to Miami. This weekend's trackside coverage focuses on Jeff Gordon and the seven remaining Chase drivers looking to Phoenix as their last race to secure a shot to compete for a Championship in Miami.

Before the green flag falls, pre-race coverage examines Kevin Harvick's winning ways at Phoenix International Raceway. Having won seven times at "Zoomtown, USA," including five of the last six Sprint Cup races, Harvick is a hands-down favorite going into the weekend.

In addition, NASCAR on NBC features reporter Rutledge Wood showcases the plans to honor Gordon's final laps around PIR. In addition to officially renaming the track "Jeff Gordon Raceway" on Sunday, Arizona Governor, Doug Ducey, issued an official proclamation naming Sunday, November 15th "Jeff Gordon Day" in the state of Arizona.

NBC Sports' Sprint Cup coverage from Avondale, AZ begins Friday with first practice at 2 p.m. ET on NBCSN followed by qualifying at 6:30 p.m. ET. Saturday's coverage begins on NBCSN with Sprint Cup second practice at 11:30 a.m. ET and final practice at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Race day Sunday begins at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NASCAR AMERICA Sunday presented by DraftKings. Coverage moves over to NBC at 2 p.m. ET with the Countdown to Green Served by Sonic pre-race show. The Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage from PIR wraps up with the Post Race Show at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN and NASCAR VICTORY LAP at 6:30 p.m. ET.

NBCSN PRESENTS NASCAR XFINITY SERIES RACING FROM PHOENIX

Saturday's day of XFINITY racing begins at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with qualifying, followed by NASCAR AMERICA at 2 p.m. ET. XFINITY Series Countdown to Green Pre-Race Show begins at 3:30 p.m. ET. The DAV 200 Honoring America's Veterans begins at 4 p.m. ET.

F1 BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX - SUNDAY AT 10:30 A.M. ET ON NBCSN

Formula One heads to Brazil this weekend for the annual Brazilian Grand Prix, a mainstay on the F1 schedule for more than 40 years, with live race coverage airing this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN. After both American driver Alexander Rossi (Marussia) and Mexican driver Sergio Perez (Force India) raced in front of their home fans at the U.S. and Mexican Grands Prix, two Brazilians, Felipe Massa and Felipe Nasr, will drive on native soil at Interlagos this weekend. Live coverage begins this Friday at 11 a.m. ET with Practice 2, kicking off NBCSN's "13 on 13" motorsports block on Friday the 13th, featuring 13 consecutive hours of motorsports action. NBC SPORTS GROUP CELEBRATES THE NASCAR PLAYOFFS WITH QUICKEN LOANS' WEEKLY PLAYOFF GRID CHALLENGE

Fans still have a chance to win big throughout the NASCAR playoffs including a chance to have their mortgage paid for a year by Quicken Loans in the Weekly Playoff Grid Challenge.
