NBC continues its coverage of the 2015 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series with Grand Prix Russia. Coverage of the men's and ladies' free skates begins this Sunday, Nov. 22, at Noon ET.
Highlighting the international field is 2014 Olympic gold medalist Adelina Sotnikova of Russia, who competes in her first major event since the Sochi Games. Joining her are teammates Yelena Radyonova and Yevgenia Medvedeva, both World junior champions. The men's field is highlighted by reigning World and European champion Javier Fernandez of Spain.
Americans competing in Moscow include 2014 Olympian Polina Edmunds and 2015 U.S. silver medalist Adam Rippon.
COMMENTATORS: Three-time U.S. figure skating champion Johnny Weir, 1998 Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski, and 2006 Olympic ice dance silver medalist Tanith White will host coverage.
Grand Prix Russia is the fifth event of the 2015 International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series. The Grand Prix Series, now in its 21st season, consists of six international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Approximately 300 athletes from 30 countries are expected to participate in the series. Each athlete is eligible to score points in up to two of the six scheduled events. The top six point-earners in each discipline qualify for the 2015 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, set for Dec. 10-13, in Barcelona, Spain.
