NBC Sports Group presents expanded live coverage of the 39th Prefontaine Classic this Saturday, June 1, from Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Live coverage begins on NBC Sports Network (3:30-4:30 p.m. ET), and continues on NBC (4:30-6 p.m. ET).

The Prefontaine Classic, named after the late Steve Prefontaine, America's legendary distance runner, is the premier track and field meet in the United States, and the only stop in North America on the prestigious World Athletics Tour. Featuring elite track and field athletes from around the world, only athletes ranked in the top 50 in the world in their events are eligible to compete.

Headlining the event for the U.S. includes Olympic gold medalists Carmelita Jeter and Allyson Felix going head-to-head in the 100m, and Olympic silver medalist and two-time World Champion Lashinda Demus competing in the women's 400m hurdles. On the men's side, Olympic gold medalist LeShawn Merritt will race in the 400m and World Champion Jesse Williams will compete in the men's high jump. International contenders include current 800m world record holder and Olympic gold medalist David Rudisha of Kenya.

ANNOUNCERS: NBC's Olympic track and field broadcast team of Tom Hammond, Ato Boldon, Lewis Johnson, Dwight Stones and Craig Masback will call all the action from Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
