NBC Renews A Cappella Competition THE SING OFF for Fifth Season!

The Hollywood Reporter reports that NBC has renewed hits a cappella singing competition THE SING OFF for a fifth season. The show will once again return as a holiday event. According to the report, auditions are currently underway for the upcoming installment.

Season 4 of the show featured host Nick Lachey and judges Shawn Stockman and Ben Folds with Jewel replacing Sara Bareilles. No details as to this season's panel have been revealed.

In America's favorite a cappella show, each group will perform show-stopping numbers like you've never seen or heard before, with no lip-synching, backup bands or safety net. They'll be covering all your favorites from today's top pop chart, to R&B, rock, country and more. It's "hit the right notes or go home" in this competition, as the celebrity judges critique the performers and eliminate one group each week.
