Leslie Knope will live to legislate another day.
According to Variety, NBC has officially given Parks and Recreation a sixth season pick-up, though notes that this may be the last, as co-creator Michael Schur's BROOKLYN NINE-NINE is set to be picked up by Fox.
Other series, however, weren't so lucky. Dropped from the 2013-2014 lineup, so far, are four low-performing comedies, that never quite landed an audience are 1600 PENN, GUYS WITH KIDS, UP ALL NIGHT, and WHITNEY.
Up All Night perhaps comes as the least surprising cancellation, considering the series lost its two leading stars, Christina Applegate and Will Arnett. NBC had originally planned to revamp the show, moving to a multi-camera format rather than a single. But then the news broke that series creator Emily Spivey was walking away - and shortly after, Applegate joined her, with Arnett booking another pilot.
The network also revealed today that they had given a series pick-up to the comedy pilots ABOUT A BOY, THE FAMILY GUIDE, SEAN SAVES THE WORLD, and the dramas CRISIS and BELIEVE.
