Deadline.com reports that NBC has officially picked up INFAMOUS, previously titled NOTORIOUS from Universal TV and BermanBraun. The project is penned by Liz Heldens. Broadway veterans Victor Garber and Tate Donovan will star.

NOTORIOUS is described as "an opulent soap in which a female detective returns undercover to the wealthy and troubled Lawson family she grew up in — as the maid’s daughter — to solve the murder of the notorious heiress who was once her closest friend." Donovan will portray Robert Lawson’s (Victor Garber) oldest child, described as "the smart and cold CFO of Lawson Pharmaceuticals."

Victor Garber's extensive list of Broadway credits include four Tony ® Award nominations for his work in Damn Yankees, Lend Me A Tenor, Deathtrap and Little Me. He also appeared in the original cast of Godspell. Garber is well-known to television audiences for his roles on the hit series Alias and Eli Stone. He appeared in the SHOWTIME series Web Therapy opposite Lisa Kudrow. His other television credits include the ABC miniseries Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, for which he was nominated for an Emmy. He also starred in ABC’s musical versions of Annie and The Music Man.

Donovan appeared on Broadway in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of GOOD PEOPLE opposite Frances McDormand. He made his Off-Broadway debut in the original 1990 production of Richard Greenberg's The American Plan. Other notable theatrical credits include: David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole at the Geffen Playhouse, on Broadway in Amy's View, opposite Judi Dench, and Off-Broadway in Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero. The actor is known for his TV performances on "Damages," and "The O.C." He will soon be seen on the big screen opposite Ben Affleck in the upcoming film Argo.
