NBC News to Provide In-Depth Coverage of Election 2012

NBC News, America's most trusted news organization, will continue to provide robust, in-depth Decision 2012 coverage in the final days leading up to and on election day.

Democracy Plaza at NBC's headquarters in New York will serve as the backdrop for many broadcast platforms in the coming days, as well as the network's primetime coverage of the Decision 2012 election beginning at 7pm ET/4pm PT on Tuesday, November 6.

SPECIAL BROADCASTS

* "Meet the Press" will broadcast live from Democracy Plaza on Sunday, November 4. David Gregory will interview Obama senior adviser David Plouffe and House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA); and host a roundtable discussion with Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker (D), "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough, Republican strategist Mike Murphy, "TODAY" co-host Savannah Guthrie, and NBC's Tom Brokaw.

* "TODAY" will continue to feature live reports from Democracy Plaza through Wednesday, November 7.

* "NBC Nightly News" weekend edition with Lester Holt will broadcast live from Democracy Plaza on Sunday, Nov. 4. BrIan Williams will anchor special one-hour editions of "NBC Nightly News" from Democracy Plaza on Monday, November 5 and Wednesday, November 6.

NBC NEWS ELECTION NIGHT PROGRAMMING

* "NBC Nightly News" and "Rock Center" anchor and managing editor BrIan Williams will anchor the network's coverage from Democracy Plaza at NBC News world headquarters in New York's Rockefeller Center.

* "Meet the Press" moderator David Gregory and "TODAY" co-host Savannah Guthrie will join Williams at the anchor desk.

* Studio 3B, home of "NBC Nightly News" and "Rock Center," will become the NBC News Election Center, featuring:

* Special correspondent Tom Brokaw on the big picture: trends, history, and analysis; and voter insights from pollsters Peter Hart and Bill McInturff.
* Chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell on who's in and who's out: following key House and Senate races, and the impact on non-elected officials such as Cabinet members.
* "Dateline," weekend "Today" and weekend "Nightly" anchor Lester Holt on Dateline America: gubernatorial, down-ballot, and key local races; proposition measures; and the after-effects of superstorm Sandy on voting.
* Chief justice correspondent Pete Williams will contribute reporting from Washington on making your vote count: irregularities, technology, claims of voter suppression.

* Political director and chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd will closely track the candidates' road to 270 electoral votes from an innovative studio featuring touchscreen wall graphics and augmented reality.

* Tamron Hall will be based in a studio on the iconic Rockefeller Center ice rink, where she will report on the voice of the voter and exit polls. The rink will hold an enormous map of the United States, where individual states will ice over in red or blue as the race is called by the NBC News Decision Desk.

* White House correspondent Kristen Welker will report from the Obama/Biden campaign headquarters in Chicago.

* Peter Alexander will report from the Romney/Ryan campaign headquarters in Boston.

* Correspondents will be spread throughout the country in battleground states and other key locations:

* NBCNews.com will provide wall-to-wall coverage on election day, including multimedia updates, interactive maps and reporting from teams across the country. NBC News will also live stream the network's primetime coverage that night. Real-time results will appear at the top of the homepage, as well as across NBCNews.com's other sections, blogs, and NBC's owned and operated sites.

* The site's political destination, NBCPolitics.com, will live stream the election and provide the latest news and analysis from the First Read blog, and social media updates from NBC's political team. The election live stream and reporting will also be available through the NBCPolitics app, and NBC News' Facebook and Twitter pages.

* NBCPolitics.com will also feature real-time social sentiment analysis, using Crimson Hexagon technology, to measure public reaction on Facebook and Twitter-gauging the volume of reaction, breaking down the negative and positive sentiment, and tracking the topics that are the biggest drivers of that sentiment. Appearing in graphic form, this information will be paired with text analysis that will be updated on a continual basis by the network's political team.

Xbox
* NBC News' special coverage will live stream on Xbox through the "Election 2012 on Xbox LIVE" experience, as well as the NBC News app for Xbox. Throughout its election coverage, NBC News is providing on-demand video on the NBC News Xbox app and from the election hub. NBC News Decision 2012 slideshows, optimized for the Internet Explorer for Xbox browser, also are featured.

Social Media
* NBC News will create a unique second screen experience on the Zeebox platform. Within the app, users will have a curated view of all real-time social media and can share images and quotes from the event across Facebook, Twitter and more.

* NBC News will use Mass Relevance technology to integrate social media on screens at Democracy Plaza on election night. Viewers can be a part of the experience on Twitter by using the hashtag #NBCPolitics.

* On Twitter, the NBC News team will be live tweeting from @NBCPolitics, @NBCNews and @NBCFirstRead, with a special focus on key speeches. Follow NBC News' coverage on Twitter using the following hashtags: #NBCPolitics, and #Decision2012. The NBC News live stream can also be found on Twitter.

* On Facebook, NBC News will live-stream the network's primetime election night coverage, post the latest analysis from NBC Politics and share photos from election day.

* NBCLatino.com will feature "Decision 2012? coverage focused on the Latino voter. Political reporter Sandra Lilley will anchor the site's election day coverage, focusing on exit polls and state-by-state results. NBC Latino's coverage will take a look at the top five Latinos behind President Obama's and Gov. Romney's campaign, as well as bring attention to congressional races throughout the country that feature Latino candidates on the ballot, and take a deep dive on voter turnout, especially in the battleground states critical to the presidential race.

* The NBC Latino social media team will also curate content on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, including user-submitted photos documenting the election day experience, and will gauge voter sentiment as expressed on social media.

* NBC Latino's team of political contributors– Raul Reyes, Cristina Beltran, Dr. Victoria DeFrancesco Soto and Stephen Nuño– will offer their unique perspective of the day's races and issues.

* NBC Latino will cross-post content with Spanish-language sister network Telemundo's election day site to offer a truly comprehensive experience to America's Latino voters.
