NBC News Wins Five Murrow Awards

NBC News and MSNBC have been honored with five national 2010 Edward R. Murrow awards, more than any other network.  The national and local winners were announced today by The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) and will be presented at the RTDNA awards dinner New York on October 11, 2010. The Murrow awards honor excellence in electronic journalism.

"NBC Nightly News" received two Murrows including best Newscast for the 'Crash of Colgan Air Flight 3407' and Video Breaking News for 'Miracle on the Hudson: Surviving Flight 1549.'

"Dateline NBC" was recognized in the Reporting-Hard News category for Ann Curry's report about her visit to a Darfur refugee camp in 'To Save the Children.'

Keith Olbermann's tribute to his mother 'A Baseball Fan Named Marie,' which aired two days after her death, won for Writing.
