During the week, "Nightly" saw 7.526 million total viewers, +595,000 more than ABC "World News,'" 6.931 million and +2.082 million more than CBS "Evening News'" 5.444 million. Nightly News was retitled on Wednesday due to pre-emptions in western markets for coverage of the NHL Finals. World News was coded as a breakout on both Tuesday and Thursday due to coverage of the NBA Finals. Season-to-date, "Nightly" leads "World News" by +1.083 million total viewers.
Last week, "Nightly" also led in the key demo adults 25-54. "Nightly" delivered a 1.8 rating A25-54, ahead of "World News'" 1.6 and "Evening News'" 1.3. With 2.277 million A25-54 (000) viewers last week, the newscast beat "World News" by +261,000 viewers. Season-to-date, "Nightly" leads "World News" by +447,000 A25-54 viewers. This is the 81st consecutive week "Nightly" has topped "World News" in this key demo.
As the number one network broadcast last week, "Nightly News" delivered a 5.1/11 Household rating, with "World News" in second place with a 4.8/10, and "Evening News" in third with a 3.7/8.
On its digital platforms, "NBC Nightly News with BrIan Williams" continued its strong performance with more than 5.7 million online streams for the week ending June 5, 2010. This is one of the top ten weeks in overall performance in online video streams for "Nightly News."
