NBC NIGHT NEWS Tops ABC by 1.1 M Total Viewers

"NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" continued as America's most-watched network evening newscast in both total viewers and adults 25-54 for the week ending November 15, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

Nightly has posted five consecutive weeks of total viewer growth and has topped ABC by over a million viewers for two consecutive weeks. Nightly has won in total viewers for 218 consecutive weeks, and in 265 of the past 266 weeks.

Compared to the same week last year, Nightly posted gains in total viewers (9.345 million vs. 9.195 million), while ABC declined (8.243 million vs. 8.476 million). Season-to-date, Nightly is delivering its biggest total viewer audience (8.619 million) to start a season since 2006 and its best advantage over ABC (+860,000) since 2010.

Weekly Highlights:

· Nightly delivered 9.345 million total viewers, +1,102,000 more than ABC World News' 8.243 million and +2,228,000 more than CBS Evening News' 7.117 million.
· Nightly averaged a 6.1/11 Household rating, ahead of ABC's 5.5/10 and CBS' 4.7/9.
· Nightly delivered a 2.0 A25-54 rating, +4 tenths ahead of ABC's 1.6 and +5 tenths more than CBS's 1.5 rating.
· Among A25-54 (000), Nightly averaged 2.379 million viewers, +418,000 ahead of World News' 1.961 million, and +542,000 ahead of Evening News' 1.837 million.
· This marks Nightly's best A25-54 viewer advantage over ABC in five weeks.

Trends:

· Nightly has posted five consecutive weeks of total viewer growth.
· Nightly has won in total viewers for 218 consecutive weeks, and in 265 of the past 266 weeks.
· Nightly has won in viewers A25-54 for 259 of the past 260 weeks.
