NBC Deportes presents a weekend of British and Mexican soccer featuring the Liga Premier and Liga MX, with games airing at the following times:
Saturday, February 13
Sunderland (20 pts.) vs. Manchester United (41 pts.), 7:30AM/6:30C/4:30P, on
NBC UNIVERSO. A great opportunity for the Red Devils to move up in the league standings and continue their historic dominance over Sunderland. Of the 27 times the two teams have met since the 1999-2000 season, ManU has walked away the winner from 19 games and lost only once.
Crystal Palace (32) vs. Watford (33), 9:55AM/8:55C/6:55P, exclusively on
NBC Deportes EN VIVO EXTRA.
Chelsea (30) vs. Newcastle (24), 12:25PM/11:25C/9:25P, on
NBC UNIVERSO. Chelsea has gone 9 games without a loss and hopes Saturday's game against Newcastle -which it has beaten twice as often as it has lost in league tournaments since 1999-2000 - will allow it to scale a few positions in the league tables.
Sunday, February 14
Arsenal (48) vs. Leicester City (53), 6:55AM/5:55C/3:55P, on TELEMUNDO. The Gunners held on to their third-place position with a win over Bournemouth last week and are now tied for points with Tottenham. Their challenge now is not to squander the home field advantage, as Manchester City did last week when it lost 3-1 to the Foxes. An Arsenal victory would be key to stopping first-place Leicester City's efforts to get even farther ahead of the pack.
Aston Villa (16) vs. Liverpool (35), 9AM/8C/6P, on
NBC UNIVERSO. Liverpool has faced some tough battles its last few times out, and this Sunday's game is crucial to its aspiration to stay among the top-ranked teams. Aston Villa can only hope that its hometown crowd will give it the push it needs to move out of last place in the standings.
Manchester City (47) vs Tottenham (48), 11:05AM/10:05C/8:05P, on
NBC UNIVERSO. Another key game for defining the top league rankings. Depending on the results of the weekend's other games, Tottenham could come within two points of first-place Leicester City; the Spurs would still be tied for points with Arsenal, but with the advantage in goal difference. Tottenham has suffered only three losses all season, with a stellar defense that has let past just 19 goals in 25 games. A victory by fourth-ranked Manchester City would do more to rearrange the league standings.
Pachuca (11) vs. Puebla (8), 8PM/7C/5P, on
NBC UNIVERSO. Five weeks into Torneo Clausura 2016, Pachuca has played a good game that reflects the strength of its roster of young players. In second place behind Monterrey, Pachuca remains the tournament's only undefeated team and has the best goal difference. Puebla too has had a good season so far, putting to rest any talk of losing its first-division status. Both at home, against Atlas, and away, against Pumas, Puebla has boosted its fans' confidence this season.
