Edgehill Records has officially folded- or, in NASHVILLE writers' words- is dead. With no replacement for Jeff Fordham (either by choice or consequence), the label is folding- spelling trouble for Will, Luke, and a plethora of other artists. Though not entirely her fault, there's no doubt the finger will be pointing directly at Rayna James and Highway 65.

Meanwhile, at the record label that isn't folding, Avery and Sadie are completely focused on her new album- which love, but which also means that Avery and Juliette are spending a lot of time (and consequently, a lot of scenes) apart- which I hate. Juliette has actually taken a backburner to NASHVILLE these past few episodes, and while it's a nice break from the drama of the entire first half of the season, now that the Juliette-and-Avery saga has finally reached its happily ever after, would it kill the writers for some newleywedded bliss?

Jeff Fordham has hit rock bottom; nobody will hire him, and he's back sleeping with Layla. It's what one would call karma. and, for the time being at least, it's way too much fun to sit and revel in his misery.

Sadie comes clean to Rayna in the best-friend/ confidant moment we've been waiting for. As sweet and helpful as Avery has been to Sadie; these two are my personal favorite. Sadie and Rayna, Laura Benanti and Connie Britton...are fantastic together. Jeff and Luke, however, are not. 20 minutes after the fall of Edgehill and Jeff is back to his greedy, scheming plans- this time employing the equally as unlikeable (albeit for different reasons) Luke Wheeler. Together, they're attempting to snag Will (who is having some trouble finding a record label he's comfortable with- one that won't make him too transparent), and, if Jeff has anything to say about it, Layla. With Luke onboard though, the odds of that are looking pretty darn slim. Enter... Rayna.

While Rayna is knee deep in wannabees and WTFs, Luke and Jeff are wining and dining Will Lexington. But, best of all, Scarlett, Avery and Gunnar are performing again at the Bluebird. The record labels' worlds are flipped upside down, but for the first time in a while, things at the Bluebird- and for Gunnar, Avery, and Scarlett, and their band, are right-side up.

Despite losing everything and knowing what it's like on the bottom, of course that has zero bearing on Jeff's conscious. He's dead set on exposing Teddy- and toying with him on top of it. Just when you think you could like someone who has Layla best (possibly) interest at heart... nope, no, won't happen.

And, like clockwork, can you say karma? Jeff Fordham, just as soon as he formed a partnership with Luke, is dissolved from it. Don't get me wrong, Luke is a complete jerk as well, but that doesn't make the schadenfreude for Jeff is all too rich.

Oh, and Scarlett and that doctor? Completely saw that coming. Should have mentioned that last week... damn.

The writers came through for me! The short but sweet moment between Avery and Juliette was one of the best and sweetest moments all episde- err- second half of the season. Love it.

Where do you think Jeff Fordham will end up next- will he take Layla up on her offer and look for a new way to rule the industry, or just continue to ruin people's lives... or both? What do think the NASHVILLE writers have in store? Let me know in the comments or tweet me at @WendiReichstein.
