Mythology Entertainment's Bradley Fischer, James Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis have officially picked up the rights to adapt the non-fiction book THE NAZI AND THE PSYCHIATRIST into not only a feature film, but a play as well. Deadline first reported the news earlier today.

Jack El-Hai's book is set for publication by PublicAffairs books, detailing the relationship between the Dr. Douglas M. Kelley, an American pyschiatrist, and Hitler's confidant Hermann Goering. It's the first non-fiction piece to explore Kelley's personal papers throughout the Nuremberg Trials.

During the Nuremberg Trials, 22 of the most prominent Nazi prisoners awaited trial for their involvement with the Third Reich. Throughout the process, Kelley studied the 'anatomy' of the Nazi personality, including Goering. The two developed a close, albeit conflicted and complex relationship.

The project is in Early Stages, and thus far, no casting or theatrical release date has been set by Mythology. BWW Movies World will keep you updated as THE NAZI AND PSYCHIATRIST's dual adaptations come to fruition.
